Could birders visiting Ambaston GP please note that only the deep water pit near Ambaston and the reedbeds where a Spotted Crake appeared a few years ago can be viewed from public footpaths etc. The rest of this site is strictly private.
Could birders visiting Willington GP Canal Pit please note that the site is a PRIVATE working gravel pit. Do not use the gravel company road and do not approach the water's edge. View only from the canal tow path. Information from the site will cease if birders cannot act responsibly.
Could birders visiting Foremark Reservoir please note that there is NO ACCESS at any time to the area along the dam wall or to the area on the West Side of the Reservoir.
A reminder to visitors to Drakelow NR: please do not walk in front of the main hide as this disturbs birds using the feeding station

The status of Aston-on-Trent GP: This is a private working gravel pit with permit only access during working hours. The closer pits can be viewed from the A50 slip road with a telescope but no access should be attempted AT ANY TIME (or you will have to explain yourself to the local constabulary)
