County Recorder | Yes | Following the death of Rod Key we are looking for a new County Recorder. This is a key role within the DOS and you will become a General Committee member and Trustee of the Charity. You will have extensive knowlege of the birds of Derbyshire with acknowledged skills in identifying birds and the time to devote to the role. Key attributes include: good PC skills, good interpersonal skills, wide ranging contacts and the ability to lead the Rarities Committee and cope with the workload. | ASAP |
Rarities Committee Members | No | The Rarities Committee is looking for one or two new members. You will have a track record of correctly identifying rare birds and be recognised by your peers as an excellent birder. Good PC skills will be required. | Ongoing |

No | The DBR is normally published in December each year and the compilers begin work on their allocated species after Easter when they receive a download from the records database. No | The DBR is normally published in December each year and by hand delivering it to members we save a significant amount of money. You will be allocated a number of reports to deliver in your allocated area (normally close to where you live), each in an evelope with an address label. Data Input Volunteers | No | We are always interested in volunteers to help us transfer data from record slips received each month into our Records Database. You will need a PC/laptop with Microsoft Access (part of some versions of Office) and around 2 hours free per month. Full training will be given. | Ongoing |
